The US 11 Floodwall construction began with the directive of raising the roadway to a 3.5 grade level, to ensure maximum safety for the heavily trafficked highway that would at times flood to knee-deep levels.   Barber Bros. utilized multiple asphalt lifts to achieve the 3.5 grade level, with two crews. Though February weather made working conditions fairly unfavorable, the project was completed a day ahead of schedule, and on budget – equipping all drivers with a definitively increased measure of safety on the road.
